Soil Water Quality

Applied Research and Extension Program
Understanding and improving soil–water systems
across Oregon and beyond

The Soil Water Quality Group at Oregon State University focuses on understanding and improving soil water quantity and quality across diverse cropping systems, management practices, soils, and climatic regions of Oregon, the United States, and globally.

Our work integrates field experimentation, laboratory analysis, process-based modeling, and data-driven tools to evaluate mechanisms and processes in the Soil-Plant-Atmosphere Continuum from the pore scale to the watershed scale. We develop practical, science-based solutions to support crop productivity, protect soil and water resources, and increase grower profits.
